Biography
Ina Pesenka is a Tel Aviv artist known for her city-scapes oil paintings. Born in 1968 in Lugansk, Ukraine Pesenkastudied at the Lugansk art school (1979-1983), art college (1983-1987) and the Ukrainian Academy of Polygraphy (1989-1995).
In her early years, Pesenka worked as an illustrator specializing in etching and painting, often in the form ex-libris. After settling in Israel in 1996, Pesenka’s work shifted to include paintings focusing on the “Israeli people’s everyday life.” She named the collection “Israel, years of creation” and addressed the question about Jewish legitimacy to live in Israel. For this series, Pesenka collected documents such as texts and photographs that showed life in the new state of Israel.

The new Israel was largely born in Russia. Hebrew grew alongside Russian. And the sights were initially dreams, until they became a fascinating reality
